Mourinho will come to Newcastle?

According to bookmakers, coach Jose Mourinho will likely take over Newcastle to replace Eddie Howe, after he was fired by Roma on January 16.

Yesterday (January 16), Roma announced the dismissal of coach Jose Mourinho. The recent series of bad matches has made the Italian capital team unable to be patient any longer. For two consecutive seasons, AS Roma only finished 6th in Serie A, this season they ranked 9th and were also just eliminated by Lazio in the quarterfinals of Coppa Italia.

Mourinho is expected to receive 18 million euros in compensation from the Italian team, but he will not rest for too long. Many Saudi Arabian giants are looking to get Mourinho’s services. However, the former Roma coach admitted that he has not thought about going to Asia to continue his career.

According to British and Italian press, coach Jose Mourinho can lead Newcastle after Roma terminated his contract ahead of time. Coach Eddie Howe is likely to part ways with the home team at St James’ Park in the near future due to the recent extremely poor performance of “The Magpies”.

Newcastle is in crisis after losing all four Premier League rounds in a row, causing them to drop to 10th place in the rankings after round 21. Newcastle could even drift to the bottom half of the rankings if Wolves and Bournemouth play all 21 matches. Therefore, it is easy for Mourinho to replace Howe.

In addition to Newcastle, according to the bookmaker, the next potential stops for the ‘Special One’ may be Portugal (5/1, bet 1 to 5), a club in MLS (6/1), Porto (January 7), Crystal Palace (January 8), Benfica (January 12) and Chelsea (January 20).

On social networks, many fans expressed their hope that Mourinho would have a third stint with Chelsea. At Stamford Bridge right now, coach Mauricio Pochettino has not actually left any significant impression since taking over Chelsea last summer. With erratic performance since the beginning of the season, the Blues are currently only ranked 9th on the rankings.
