Luton coach Rob Edwards believes Manchester United midfielder Casemiro should have been sent off yesterday.
Casemiro was withdrawn by coach Erik ten Hag in the first half because he was in danger of being sent off. The midfielder was booked and then was perhaps lucky not to receive a second yellow card for fouling Ross Barkley. Edwards said that Casemiro’s substitution was a sign that he should have received a red card.
Edwards told Sky Sports: “His leaving the field at half-time was probably an indication of how I felt about that game. I won’t complain about that now.”
Casemiro was replaced by Scott McTominay before half-time, and Man United eventually won.
The Red Devils took a 2-goal lead after just 7 minutes when Rasmus Hojlund scored twice. Carlton Morris pulled the goal back for Luton, but in the end it was Man United who won all 3 points. This result puts Luton in 17th place on the Premier League rankings, 1 point above the relegation zone. Meanwhile, M.U is 5 points behind the top 4, only 3 points behind the top 5.
