Neymar’s representative has dismissed rumors suggesting the Brazilian player wants to return to Barcelona this summer.
Neymar Denies Barcelona Return Rumors
Neymar left Barcelona in 2017 to join Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian spent six years in the French capital before moving to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal last summer.
However, Neymar has only played five matches since his move to Saudi Arabia due to an ACL injury sustained while playing for Brazil in October 2023.
Recently, there have been rumors about Neymar making a return to Barcelona this summer. However, the player’s representative has issued a statement firmly denying these claims.
“Aside from being a lie, this article is a tremendous disrespect to Neymar and his club, Al Hilal.
Neymar Jr has a contract with the Saudi club, he is happy in Riyadh, and he will soon return to the field to bring joy to fans around the world.”
This summer, Barcelona is targeting a left winger. With Nico Williams deciding to stay in Bilbao and Rafael Leao also opting to remain, Federico Chiesa of Juventus appears to be the most viable option for Barcelona. Neymar’s name unexpectedly surfaced as a potential option for Los Blaugrana.
However, it is clear that these rumors are baseless. Barcelona is currently struggling to register new signing Dani Olmo, and bringing in a high-wage player like Neymar would further complicate their ability to fit him into their squad.
