“Choosing Bayern over Real, Kane Will Regret It”

In a recent commentary on GOAL, former footballer Paul Gascoigne criticized Harry Kane’s decision to join Bayern Munich.

Last summer, Kane decided to leave Tottenham Hotspur after 14 years to join Bayern with the ambition of winning trophies before the end of his career. However, his first season at Allianz Arena did not go as planned. Despite maintaining a remarkable scoring rate with 44 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions, the 31-year-old ended up with a trophyless campaign.

Notably, before officially becoming a Bayern player, Kane had interest from Real Madrid and Manchester United but ultimately chose Germany as his next destination. This decision has left English football legend Gascoigne dissatisfied.

“I don’t understand why he turned down Real. When you join that club, it’s not just about playing football; you also get to enjoy life in a wonderful city. I think Kane will regret choosing Bayern. You can see that the best England players have joined Real, like Steve McManaman, Michael Owen, and now Jude Bellingham, so you can’t help but question Kane’s decision,” Gascoigne said on GOAL.

While Bayern Munich had a trophyless season last year, Real Madrid won three titles: La Liga, the Spanish Super Cup, and the Champions League. Notably, Real Madrid were the team that knocked Bayern out in the Champions League semi-finals.

As for Kane, the 31-year-old recently played for Bayern in a friendly against Grasshoppers, scoring a goal in their 4-0 victory under Vincent Kompany.
