Napoli Agrees Deal to Sign Scott McTominay from Manchester United

Napoli has reached an agreement with Manchester United over the transfer fee for midfielder Scott McTominay.

Napoli Secures Deal to Acquire Scott McTominay from Manchester United

Manchester United has accepted Napoli’s offer of £25 million for Scott McTominay. The decision now rests with the Scottish player regarding his future.

Should McTominay agree to the move, Manchester United could use the proceeds to pursue Manuel Ugarte from PSG. Ugarte has been a priority target for Manchester United this summer. However, the two clubs have yet to agree on the transfer fee, with a significant difference still remaining.

Selling Scott McTominay will also help Manchester United balance their finances, as he is a product of the Carrington academy. Therefore, the entire transfer fee will be considered profit for Manchester United.

McTominay joined Manchester United in 2013 but had been training with the club for a decade before that. He made his debut under Jose Mourinho in May 2017. In total, McTominay has made 255 appearances for Manchester United and scored 29 goals.

The 27-year-old has won the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup during his time with Manchester United. This season, McTominay has come off the bench in all three matches so far, but his contributions have been relatively limited.

Selling McTominay and signing Manuel Ugarte would represent a significant upgrade for Manchester United’s midfield. This would also mark a successful transfer window for United, as they have brought in several quality and promising new players for key positions in their squad.
