Jamie Bynoe-Gittens’ brace helped new head coach Nuri Sahin lead Borussia Dortmund to a victorious start in the 2024/25 Bundesliga season.
It wasn’t an easy game for Borussia Dortmund as they hosted the challenging Eintracht Frankfurt at Signal Iduna Park for the opening match of the 2024/25 season. Ultimately, the win went to the team that made the most of their opportunities, which was Dortmund under new manager Nuri Sahin.
As usual, Dortmund dominated possession with 71% of the ball. The Yellow and Blacks fired 20 shots towards the visitors’ goal, but only 5 were on target, with 2 finding the net. Bynoe-Gittens made a significant impact by scoring twice, securing a 2-0 victory for the hosts.
Eintracht Frankfurt, on the other hand, played defensively for much of the match. Coach Dino Toppmoller’s side had some dangerous counter-attacks, but they were unable to convert their chances.
With this win, Nuri Sahin’s debut in the Bundesliga could not have been more impressive. Next, Dortmund will face a tougher challenge with an away game against Werder Bremen on August 31st, presenting a more difficult test for Sahin and his team.
