A brace from young star Jamie Bynoe-Gittens helped new Borussia Dortmund coach Nuri Sahin achieve a winning start in the Bundesliga 2024/25 season opener.
Borussia Dortmund faced a tough challenge against Eintracht Frankfurt at their home ground, Signal Iduna Park, in the opening match of the 2024/25 season. The victory ultimately went to the team that made better use of their chances—Dortmund under new coach Nuri Sahin.
As usual, Dortmund dominated possession with 71% of the ball. The Black and Yellows fired 20 shots towards the Frankfurt goal, with only 5 on target and 2 of those finding the net. Bynoe-Gittens made a significant impact by scoring both goals, securing a 2-0 win for the home side.
Eintracht Frankfurt also played a disciplined game for most of the match. Coach Dino Toppmoller’s team created several dangerous counter-attacks, but their strikers missed crucial opportunities.
With this win, Nuri Sahin’s debut in the Bundesliga could not have been more impressive. Next, the Ruhr side will face a tougher challenge as they travel to Werder Bremen on August 31, presenting a significant test for Sahin and his squad.
